Hello and welcome to this newsletter! If you’re here, chances are you’ve come from instagram (If not you can find out what @drshakeshaikh is all about here)
My main area of work is to help flatten the learning curve for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) starting their first NHS job. It is a very daunting time in one’s life. Being new to a country and navigating life as well as a different healthcare system is very daunting and leads to high stress levels with constantly feeling out of your depth. But TRUST ME it gets better! We have all been in your shoes and can tell you, it won’t always be like this.
Remember, ‘It won’t always be like this’
The aim of these newsletters is to talk about day to day clinical (and maybe non clinical) scenarios that you can encounter as a doctor in the NHS, it will cover different disease presentations with cases and how to manage them.
Enjoy your journey through the IMG Experience 🩷
